Lianga Water District (LIWAD) held a turn-over ceremony of the newly constructed Drinking and Hand washing Station situated at Diatagon Catholic High School, Surigao del Sur State University-Lianga Campus, and Lianga Central Elementary School on August 10, 2018. The construction of Drinking and Hand washing Station was incorporated to LIWAD Gender and Development (GAD) Plans and Budget for FY 2018 as articulated by Section 36(b) of RA 9710, otherwise known as the “Magna Carta of Women” mandates the creation and/ or strengthening of the Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System or similar GAD mechanism.
