Lianga Water District (LIWAD) held a turn-over ceremony of the newly constructed Drinking and Hand washing Facility situated at Anibongan National High School, Barangay Anibongan, Lianga, Surigao del Sur on September 20, 2019 (Friday) at exactly 9:00 o’clock in the morning. The signing of the Deed of Donation that for and in consideration of a desire to contribute a share for the cause of the education of Filipino learners through the Adopt-a-School Program of the Department of Education, the DONOR has freely and voluntarily given, transferred and conveyed by way of donation to the DONEE, its successors and assigns free and clear of any and all liens and encumbrances whatsoever all rights, interest and title on 1 unit of Drinking and Hand Washing Facilities installed with 10 faucets, concrete with tiles, control valve and white painted amounting to ₱42,931.50 which were executed by LIWAD Board of Directors through the Chairmanship of Editha C. Mosquera, MD and the ANHS School Head Ms. Jean G. Coquilla. Chairperson Mosquera also demonstrated the steps for proper hand washing to the students and to the general public present during the said activity.

The ANHS being the last years’ recipient for Best Brigada Eskwela Implementer-National Winner- Medium School Category and the attempt to replicate their status as national winner for the second time is their next objective and through the construction of drinking and hand washing facility they are confident that they can pass the validation. The construction of Drinking and Hand washing Facility was incorporated to LIWAD Gender and Development (GAD) Plans and Budget for CY 2019 as articulated by Section 36(b) of RA 9710, otherwise known as the “Magna Carta of Women” mandates the creation and/ or strengthening of the Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System or similar GAD mechanism.
